Garopaba Lagoon, also called Lagoa da Encantada, do Capão or da Ferrugem, lies between the Encantada community and Praia da Barra, where a channel links it to the sea. It borders four neighborhoods: Ferrugem, Palhocinha, Areias de Palhocinha and Encantada.
Its water is calm and warm, and the steady wind makes it a spot for kitesurfing, windsurfing and stand-up paddling. From the top of Pedra Branca you can see the whole lagoon, with the fields around it and the sea behind.
The most visited spots
- Barra channel: where the lagoon meets the sea, at Praia da Barra, with calm shallow water.
