What it is
Garopaba celebrates the anniversary of the municipality on December 19. On that date in 1961, state law no. 795 re-created the municipality, separating it from Palhoça; Garopaba had already been a municipality from 1890 to 1930. In 2025 it turned 64.

The 2025 celebration had a giant cake at Praça Governador Ivo Silveira from 2:30 pm, with concerts and performances.
