It is on the way to Praia da Vigia, a few meters from Praia da Preguiça, on the stretch of rocks also known as Canto do Baú. The little stairway was built in the mid-1990s by a longtime resident known as Calico, and the community named the spot Escadinha do Calico. Below is a small cove of clear water among the rocks, facing Garopaba bay and the fishing boats.
