Mirante do Amor, also called Mirante do Macacu, sits by the GRP-401 road and has one of the fullest views of Siriú: Lagoa do Macacu, the Siriú Dunes, Siriú Beach, the river and, on the horizon, Ilha do Coral, in a panorama whose colors change through the day. Couples traditionally leave a padlock there.
Points of interest
- Macacu Lagoon: right below, with colors that change through the day.
- Siriú Dunes: the white dunes between the lagoon and the sea.
- Praia do Siriú: Garopaba's longest beach.
- Coral Island: on the horizon, with the lighthouse.
- Padlocks: the tradition of couples leaving a padlock at the viewpoint.
Getting there
On the GRP-401 road, with benches, a gathering area and parking. Wheelchair accessible, always open and free.
Features
A viewpoint with benches, a sitting area and parking, easy to reach and wheelchair accessible, always open and free.
Things to do
Watch the sunset, photograph the lagoon, the dunes and the beach and, if you are a couple, leave a padlock. It is a quick stop on the way to Siriú or back to Gamboa.
Safety tips
It is right by the GRP-401 road: use the viewpoint's parking and cross with care. The padlocks are a tradition, but do not throw keys or trash into the bush.
